The Annual Handicap Tournament was well supported last year and I hope it will be again this. The Tournament is to be held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th May 2010 at Alfreton Leisure Centre, Church Street, Alfreton, Derbyshire. This year the Tournament agains sponsored by Foresters.

As with last year there are five competitions, Mens Singles, Ladies Singles, Mens Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed. The event will be initially a round-robin with between 6 to 8 players/pairs in each group (depending on entry levels).

There will then be quarter-finals and semi-finals played after that.

The Tournament is open to all players registered with clubs in the Derbyshire Leagues. In other words those players who are playing for clubs in either the Derby or Chesterfield Badminton Leagues. In addition, there are a number of players who will be invited to compete in this years event due to their support of the competition last year.

The Tournament will be played using the rally scoring system and is handicapped based on the Division you play in and/or your known level of ability to make the event fair for all competitors.

The cost of the Tournament is £5.00 per player per event.
