It was great to see a large number of Chesterfield League players entering the Tournament so thought it best to give a summary of those who entered and their finishing positions within the competition.
Mens Singles - Only 1 player, Paul Todd (Wirksworth) entered the singles competition. There were two groups of 5 players in total and Paul finished a credible second in his group behind eventual event winner Lee Clapham.
Ladies Doubles - 3 pairs from the League entered the Ladies Doubles event. Anna Skrobacz and Kerry ‘Pocket Rocket’ Rawson (South Normanton) finished 3rd in their group of 5. In the other group Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Bond (Wirksworth) teamed up with Julie Morris (Venturers) and won the group ahead of 3rd placed Debbie Trow and Sue Gerrett (Wirksworth). Unfortunately, Bond and Morris were then beaten in the semi final to the eventual winners Leah Kellogg and Rachael Gilchrist.

Best showing was Dave O’Hare (Staveley) playing with Robin Harris (South Normanton). They topped their group, won their semi-final but were defeated in the final by Simon Shaw and Lee Clapham. Andy Petty (Venturers) playing with Ed Oldfield also won their group but were defeated by O’Hare and Harris in the semi’s. Mick Johnson and Loz Ball played well finishing second in a group but losing out in a play-off for the last semi-final place. This spot went to Brian Wheatley (Venturers) who was playing with an ex-South Normanton player (Kevin Marriott). Other players represented were Chris Heynes and Paul Todd (Wirksworth) and Mel Bullock (Wirksworth) playing with Parker!

Mixed Doubles - As with the Mens Doubles their were a large number of entries from the League. In total there were 11 players who took part split amongst the four groups of 4. With only the winners to go through to the semi finals. Unfortunately, no pairings made it through to the semi’s but there were some that went close! Coming 2nd in their respective groups were Robin Harris and Kerry Rawson (South Normanton), Paul Todd and Charlotte Bond (Wirksworth) and Andy Petty and Julie Morris (Venturers). Anna Skrobacz and Stephen Barratt (South Normanton) and Chris Heynes and Debbie Trow (Wirksworth) came 3rd in their groups. While Dave O’Hare (Staveley) playing with Lauren Roebuck, probably tired after his exertions earlier in the day running around Mr Harris came last in their group! In the final Lee Clapham & Rachael Gilchrist beat Simon Shaw & Sarah Pulley.
